Castillo de Santa Ana

    The castillo de Santa Ana, also known as Castillo de Las Roquetas, is a fortification built by Carlos III de España between the XVI and the XVII century, located in the town of Roquetas de Mar (Almería) which was used for refugee to the inhabitants who lived near the port.

    The 1804 earthquake destroyed most of the structure, and only one of the towers survived and the raised level area,which has been conserved and recovered.

    Converted into a free-to-enter museum with exhibition space, the Castle contains paintings, photographs, and other items of interest, as well as offering conferences and talks from time to time. The interior patio usually displays sculptures and even hosts seasonal concerts.
